What makes Le Fumoir smoked salmon unique?

Our salmon is crafted using traditional smoking methods learned in Scotland, combined with over three decades of expertise. We focus on careful sourcing, natural ingredients, and precise curing and smoking techniques to preserve the integrity, texture, and flavour of the fish. At Le Fumoir by Joe Bassili, we do not believe in sacrificing quality to save time. From the moment the salmon arrives at our facility, every stage of the process is handled with care and precision. The fish is gutted and filleted by hand before being dry cured with salt for up to 24 hours. It is then slowly smoked using untreated oak wood chips sourced from Stuttgart, with most products smoked for a minimum of 16 hours - a process that takes significantly longer than many commercial methods. After smoking, the salmon is cooled gradually in carefully controlled stages to protect the texture of the fish. It is then hand deboned and trimmed, with the brown meat carefully removed. For our premium products, the salmon is also hand sliced to ensure the ideal texture and presentation. What makes our salmon unique is simple: time, salt, oak, and instinct.

Where is Le Fumoir salmon sourced?

We source high-quality salmon from the pristine waters and sustainable farms of Scotland and Norway, ensuring the raw ingredient meets the standards required for our traditional smoking process. We even visited these farms ourselves to ensure the quality of our sourcing.

Where can I buy Le Fumoir products?

Are your products available for delivery?

Yes. We deliver across the UAE. Delivery timelines and minimum order requirements are shown at checkout for each location.

What is the shelf life of Le Fumoir smoked salmon?

Our smoked salmon has a shelf life of up to 30 days when unopened and stored chilled between 1°C and 3°C. Once opened, it is best consumed within 3 days.

Is Le Fumoir salmon ready to eat?

Yes, all our smoked salmon products are ready to eat. The only exception is our fresh (non-smoked) salmon fillets, which are raw and should be cooked before consumption.

Are your products halal?

Yes. All Le Fumoir products are halal certified. Certification details are available on request.

Orders and Delivery

Are Le Fumoir products delivered fresh?

All our products are delivered fresh, never frozen, with ice packs. We maintain strict temperature control from production to delivery to ensure consistent quality.

Do you offer subscription services?

Yes, we offer a subscription model for regular deliveries. Customers can choose weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly deliveries on the product page, with discounts of up to 25% depending on the frequency.

Can I cancel my order?

Orders can be cancelled within 6 hours of placement. After this window the order is prepared for dispatch. Please contact us as soon as possible at shop@lefumoir.co.

What if my order arrives damaged?

If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery with a photo and we will arrange a replacement or refund promptly. You can contact us here.
